First-ever Bloomberg Equality Summit at Bloomberg’s Global HQ in NYC. 400+ business leaders, advocates, and activists. Diane von Furstenberg, Chelsea Handler, Ashley Judd, Chelsea Clinton, Chamath Palihapitiya. White-glove broadcast support during the summit window.
Bloomberg announced its inaugural Business of Equality Summit for May 8, 2018 — positioned as a new annual gathering on the future of equality in the workforce, hosted at Bloomberg’s Global Headquarters at 731 Lexington Avenue. The speaker list ran high — Diane von Furstenberg, Chelsea Handler, Ashley Judd, DeRay Mckesson, Alicia Garza, Chamath Palihapitiya, Chelsea Clinton — and the production bar was the Bloomberg bar: trading-floor-grade reliability, network-broadcast polish, and zero tolerance for the technology being visible.
I joined Bloomberg LP in May 2018 as Global AV / Streaming Technician, white-glove tier, just as this summit was being prepared. The summit ran on day-one of the engagement. The bar was set at Bloomberg-grade and held there for the year that followed.
Direct contract with Bloomberg LP, white-glove tier. Expert-level operation across sound, video, camera, and lighting in a high-stakes global broadcast environment. The role spanned high-profile guests on the trading-floor broadcast network — including DAG Rod Rosenstein and Martha Stewart over the engagement window — and the Equality Summit was the inaugural set-piece for that year’s production calendar.
Across the year-long engagement (May 2018–April 2019) the work spanned trading-floor live broadcasts, executive interviews, summit-format programming, and the integration of Bloomberg’s in-house broadcast network with the third-party panels and named-talent appearances that ran through 731 Lexington.
